During my second year at VAMUdeS, I designed a custom power distribution board for our hexacopter. The power distribution board includes a hall effect current sensor, a voltage measurement and two adjustable voltage buck converters. The PCB can provide 200A RMS and 320A peaks for up to 10 seconds. The PDB connects to two 6S batteries and distributes the power needed to all the six motors as well as the Power Module, which provide power to all the on-board devices, such as the autopilot, the camera and the gimbal.
